King Arthur

Séries
Description

In 1691, the creation of the kingdom of England by the mythical King Arthur and his friend Merlin inspired the poet John Dryden to write King Arthur. A political drama worthy of the series House of Cards, it was interspersed with music by the brilliant Purcell, populated with a procession of mythological and symbolic characters. Vox Luminis, which has chosen the Salle Philharmonique to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a unique revival of this legendary collaboration, brings this jewel of English music back to life, with its swirling dances, exuberantly inventive arias and choruses, including the famous 'The Cold Song', immortalised by Klaus Nomi.
