Daphnis and Chloe
A historic partner and emblematic ensemble of the prestigious Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier, with which it has been closely associated since its creation, the Orchestre Opéra National de Montpellier makes its debut in Liège. Its programme celebrates the French tradition through a symphonic poem by Camille Pépin inspired by an ancient Chinese tale, but also ancient Greece as reimagined by Ravel, alongside the 80th birthday of American composer John Adams in a thrilling suite drawn from his opera Doctor Atomic (2005), inspired by the tense hours preceding the famous Trinity nuclear test in 1945.
