100 % Chopin

The Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie celebrates the poetic genius of Frédéric Chopin through two major works from his concert repertoire. Composed in 1830 when he was only twenty, the First Concerto already bears the imprint of the lyricism and nostalgia that will run through all his work — a deep melancholy in affinity with the sensitivity of Yves Henry, one of the most respected interpreters of pianistic Romanticism. With the Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise brillante, Frédéric Chopin combines the airy melodic line of Italian bel canto (Vincenzo Bellini) with a heroic writing style, with proud and almost revolutionary accents.
