Wind quintet

The wind quintet, a calling card of Romanticism, flourished in the 19th century, as wind instruments became technically more advanced. The result was light, short-movement works that were both highly melodic and virtuosic, and often dazzling (lightness and vivacity being the key words). Five principals from the OPRL, happy to be part of their Woodwind family, help us discover its richness and variety through French, Italian and German works from the 19th and 20th centuries.
