ODE TO THE FUTURE

"This anniversary concert is first and foremost an encounter between young people from different backgrounds, a philharmonic orchestra and a musical heritage that has stood the test of time”. Fabrice Murgia

Jeunesses Musicales is celebrating its 85th anniversary with a project that channels the revolts and hopes of 140 teenagers, staged by Fabrice Murgia and supported by the OPRL. This extraordinary performance blends major symphonic hits (Romeo and Juliet, Ode to Joy, Danse macabre…) with hard-hitting texts written and sung by these 11th- and 12th-grade students, expressing their current concerns and their own vision of what resistance means.

Guided by Murgia’s artistic direction, this collective creation brings together eight schools, the entire Jeunesses Musicales team, composer and arranger Gwenaël Mario Grisi, and the OPRL’s educational department.
