Audition for Principal Trombone
Description
The OPRL is holding an audition for one Principal Trombone, playing Alto Trombone and Bass Trumpet.
Practical information
- When: Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM (attendance required from 9:15 AM for the draw).
- Where: Salle Philharmonique de Liège (entrance: 14, rue Forgeur – 4000 LIÈGE).
- How: Complete your application form online or send it by e-mail to concours@oprl.be before midnight on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the latest.
For candidates who reach the third round of the audition, the OPRL will cover travel and accommodation expenses up to €400 per candidate (upon presentation of receipts).
Remuneration
- Monthly salary: starting from €4,565.70 gross.
- Additional allowances: clothing allowance, audiovisual fee, double holiday pay.
- Benefits: supplementary pension plan (80% covered by the employer), guaranteed income insurance, 24/7 instrument insurance, reimbursement for instrument maintenance.
Auditions will consist of three rounds.
First round
- 1st movement:
- David, Concertino Op. 4, with cadenza (Edition Zimmermann)
- Orchestral excerpts:

- Ravel, L’Enfant et les Sortilèges
Second round
- Boutry, Capriccio for Trombone and Piano (Edition Leduc)

Third round
Excerpts from the first and second rounds may be requested again in the third round.
