Lukáš Vondráček

"Pianist Lukáš Vondracek is a master of perfect vocal textures". (The Straits Times)

First Prize winner of the 2016 Queen Elisabeth Competition, Czech pianist Lukáš Vondracek shares some famous works by Schumann, the master of introspection, in his dreamily embroidered Arabeske. A passionate reader of the Romantic writer E.T.A. Hoffmann, Schumann paid tribute in his Kreisleriana (1838) to one of his characters, Johannès Kreisler, a composer with a dynamic and eccentric temperament. This world of fantasy culminates in the ebullient music of Brahms and the more whimsical music of Scriabin.
