Dustin O’Halloran

Born in 1971, American pianist Dustin O’Halloran rose to prominence in 2004 with Piano Solos, a minimalist and introspective debut album. Emerging from the indie rock scene and influenced by ambient music, he has developed a stripped-down style built on repetition and the breathing space of silence. His acknowledged influences—Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Erik Satie—enter into dialogue with a cinematic sensibility close to that of Sofia Coppola (for whom he has composed). A regular collaborator with Deutsche Grammophon (three albums between 2019 and 2024), he crafts, in solo form, between piano and subtle electronics, an introspective experience of rare delicacy.
