Christmas concert: The Nutcracker
The magic of Christmas would be nothing without the music of Tchaikovsky! Premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg in 1892, his Nutcracker, which takes place on Christmas Eve, is an enchanting work. It's the story of little Clara, whose gift of a nutcracker that transforms into her Prince Charming and takes her to the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy, with its unforgettable melodies and orchestration featuring the enchanting sound of the celesta. Gergely Madaras presents the complete symphonic version, to our great delight.
