Audition Procedures

Description

The OPRL is holding an audition for 1 Tutti Second Violon.

Practical information

When: Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM (attendance required from 9:15 AM for the draw).

Where: Salle Philharmonique de Liège (entrance : 14, rue Forgeur – 4000 LIÈGE).

How: Complete your application form online or send it by e-mail to concours@oprl.be before midnight on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the latest.

Remuneration

  • Monthly Salary: starting from 3,807.18 € gross.
  • Additional allowances: clothing allowance, audiovisual fee, double holiday pay.
  • Benefits: supplementary pension plan (80% covered by the employer), guaranteed income insurance, 24/7 instrument insurance, reimbursement for instrument maintenance.

 

Auditions

Auditions will consist of three rounds:

First round:

  • 1st movement (without cadenza) from one of the following concertos:

- W. A. Mozart, Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major K. 216

- W. A. Mozart, Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major K. 218

- W. A. Mozart, Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major K. 219

  • Orchestral excerpts 

 

Second round:

  • 1st movement (without cadenza) from one of the following concertos:

- L. van Beethoven, Violin Concerto in D major Op. 61

- J. Brahms, Violin Concerto in D major Op. 77

- F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Violin Concerto No. 2 in E minor Op. 64

- C. Saint-Saëns, Violin Concerto No. 3 in B minor Op. 61

- J. Sibelius, Violin Concerto in D major Op. 47

- P. I. Tchaikovski, Violin Concerto in D major Op. 35

  • Orchestral excerpts 

 

Third Round:

  • Orchestral excerpts from tutti, 1st violin parts:

- Mahler, Symphony No.5, 1st movement 

- Mahler, Symphony No. 5, 4th movement

- Mendelssohn, Ein Sommernachtstraum, Scherzo

- R. Strauss, Don Juan

  • Orchestral excerpts from tutti, 2nd violin parts

- Bartók, Concerto for Orchestra, Finale 

- Beethoven, Symphony No. 1, 2nd movement 

- Brahms, Piano Concerto No.1, 3rd movement

- Bruckner, Symphony No. 9, 3rd movement 

- Franck, Symphony, 2nd movement

- Ravel, Daphnis et Chloé, Suite No. 2
