Description

The OPRL is holding an audition for three tutti first violin positions.

Practical information

When: Monday 15 September 2025 at 10:00 (attendance required from 9.15 for the draw)

Where : Salle Philharmonique de Liège (entrance 14, rue Forgeur - 4000 LIÈGE)

How : Complete your application form online or send it by e-mail to concours@oprl.be before midnight on Friday 5 September 2025.

Remuneration

  • Monthly Salary : starting from 3,807.18 €  gross.
  • Additional allowances: clothing allowance, audiovisual fee, double holiday pay.
  • Benefits: supplementary pension plan (80% covered by the employer), guaranteed income insurance, 24/7 instrument insurance, reimbursement for instrument maintenance.
Auditions

Auditions will consist of three rounds:

First round :

1st movement (without cadenza) of a concerto of your choice between: 

MOZART, Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major K. 216
MOZART, Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major K. 218
MOZART, Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major K. 219

- One or more orchestral excerpts (chosen by the jury, taken from the list shown in round 3)*

Second round : 

1st movement (without cadenza) of a concerto of your choice between: 

BEETHOVEN, Violin Concerto in D major op. 61
BRAHMS, Violin Concerto in D major op. 77
MENDELSSOHN, Violin Concerto No. 2 in E minor op. 64
SAINT-SAËNS, Violin Concerto No. 3 in B minor op. 61
SIBELIUS, Violin Concerto in D major op. 47
TCHAIKOVSKI, Violin Concerto in D major op. 35

- One or more orchestral excerpts (chosen by the jury, taken from the list shown in round 3)*

Third round : 

Orchestral excerpts*

BARTÓK, Concerto for orchestra, Finale
BEETHOVEN, Symphony No. 9
BRAHMS, Symphony No. 4
BRUCKNER, Symphony No. 7
MAHLER, Symphony No. 5, 1st movement

MOZART, Symphony No. 39, 4th movement

The orchestra’s pianist will be available to accompany you, BUT WITHOUT THE POSSIBILTY OF REHEARSING BEFORE HAND.
